Spartans Beat Mavericks

With new bleachers, a new press box with roof seating, a new field house in the north end zone and the cowbells ringing loudly, the Greenbrier East Spartans took the field Friday, August 30, against their border rival, the James Monroe Mavericks, to open the 2019 season.

After an even first half, the Spartans football team made some big plays in the second and left the new facilities with a 26-14 victory in front of a large crowd, making it necessary to park crs in the free parking lot at the fairgrounds.
