On Sunday, January 6, 2019, at the age of 92, Rita Posner died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family.
Rita was born on June 11, 1926, and was raised in Boston, MA.
She moved to Maryland in the early 1950s, where she and her husband, Jack Posner, raised their three children. In 1988, Rita moved to Lewisburg, WV, where she remained an active member of the community.
Rita was very independent stayed active until her death. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed walking, knitting, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered most for her kindness, compassion, and dedication to her family.
Rita is preceded in death by her husband; her three brothers, Hyman, Joseph, and Jack Kovner; and her sister, Ruth Siegel.
She is survived by her three children, Gail Keyes, Steve Posner, and Melissa Luppino; six granddaughters, Regina Keyes-Hernandez, Rose Keyes, Laura Keyes, Adrienne Posner, Jackie Posner, and Megan Luppino; two great-grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Keyes-Hernandez; and one great-granddaughter, Corinn Dziergowski.
A celebration of life/memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in Berkley Springs, WV.
