Rita Pearl Pilkenton, 71, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born April 7, 1947, she was a daughter of the late James Ernest and Rosella Mae Hoke Morris of Glace, WV.
She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be sadly missed by all. She was retired from the laundry services at The Greenbrier hotel, where she worked for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Pilkenton; infant daughter, Joyce Lea Pilkenton; brothers, James Morris, George Morris, Robert Morris, and Raymond Morris; and sisters, Nellie Carter, Alice Vance, Beulah Dunbar, and Lillie Bostic.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters, Brenda Wickline (Mark) and Mary Pilkenton (John Cook); also very special to her heart, her three granddaughters that meant the world to her as she meant to them, Melanie Anne, Sarah Paige, and Emalee Joyce Wickline; her very special grand dog, Samantha Grace "Sammie" whom she thought so much of; two sisters, Loretta Profeta and Vernie Alexander; and many nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lewisburg, with Pastor Don Trent officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
