Lucien Daigneault

Lucien Joseph Daigneault, 87, of Dawson, WV, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA, following a short illness.
Born September 13, 1931, in Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of Stanislaus and Helen Bertrand Daigneault.

Lucien was ordained and ministered in the Midwest. He loved this country.  Upon moving to West Virginia, he pastored at Shuck Memorial Baptist Church in Lewisburg, WV. He also taught French and English at Greenbrier East High School. Lucien was an artist, specializing in oils and acrylics.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Stanley Daigneault.
Survivors include his beloved wife of more than 53 years, Violet Akers Daigneault; one brother, Henry Daigneault of Wallaceburg; one sister, Helen Martinello of Sarina, Ontario, Canada; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A service was held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at Smathers Funeral Chapel in Rainelle, WV, where Pastor Mike Teubert officiated.
Smathers Funeral Chapel in Rainelle was in charge of arrangements.
