Reginald "Frenchy" Curry

Reginald "Frenchy" Calvin Curry was born on May 8, 1952, in Ronceverte, WV, to Eva Mae Woods Curry and Clarence O. Curry. Reginald "Rex" was the oldest of seven siblings.

Frenchy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donawha "Don" Curry; and his sister, Pamela Walker-Anglin, with whom he shares the same homegoing date, August 21.

Frenchy was also preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Frenchy was raised in the Washington, D.C., public school system, enlisted in the United States Army, and was then sent to Vietnam. Despite all of his struggles of being a Vietnam veteran, Frenchy was able to go back to school and study auto mechanics and IT.

Those left to cherish his memories are his only son, Rico Curry and wife, Susan, of Washington, D.C.; sister, Cheryl Walker-Bates of Stafford, VA; brothers, Michael D. Walker and wife, Vanessa, of Lewisburg, WV, Greg Walker and wife, Jennifer, of Lexington, KY, and Patrick Walker and wife, Meredith, of Ronceverte, WV; aunt, Elaine Woods Weldon and husband, Charles, of Lewisburg; his former wife, Patricia S. Curry, of Washington, D.C.; and grandchildren Leaya Curry of Washington, D.C., and Rico Curry Jr. of Washington, D.C. 

Friends and family will gather on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 3 p.m., for a memorial service at the home of his cousin and friend, Rodney Walker, on the ridge in Ronceverte.
