Margaret Louise Harrah Shelton, 92, of Alderson, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV, following a long illness.
Born November 1, 1922, as Asbury, WV, she was the daughter of the late Basil and Josephine Burdette Harrah.
Mrs. Shelton was a member of the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson, where she taught Sunday School classes for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Henry Shelton; two daughters, Anna “Joanne” Shelton Smith and Barbara June Shelton; five brothers, James, Robert, John, William, and Frank Harrah; two sisters, Gloria Harrah and Ruth Harrah Sisk; and a great-grandson, Timothy Shelton Kling.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Godby of Beaver, WV, Anita Russell of Sacramento, CA, and Linda Housel of Berkeley Springs, WV; two sisters, Virginia Frances Harrah and Rose Harrah Weaver; four granddaughters, Charlotte Tobin, Laura Mozeleski, Stephanie Grover, and Stacie Kling; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 2 PM at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson with the Rev. Gary Baker officiating. Burial will follow at The End of the Trail Cemetery in Clintonville, WV.
Friends may call Saturday from 1-2 PM at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
