Greenbrier East Lady Spartans Hold Off Saint Albans Red Dragons

With college football on hold for a few weeks and college basketball just getting heated up, there was an entertaining sports event at the Spartan Gym in Fairlea on Saturday night, December 12, when the Greenbrier East Lady Spartans defeated the Saint Albans Red Dragons 60-54 in a hard fought contest.

GEHS Spartans Football Season Ends In Martinsburg

The Greenbrier East Spartans football team enjoyed its best season in 17 years, finishing the regular season at 7-3 and qualifying for the state playoffs in the process. But in the first round of 16, the Spartans' season finally came to a close after suffering a tough 47-28 loss to the Martinsburg Bulldogs on a very windy Friday, November 13 evening.

Lady Spartans Soccer Team Makes History, Heading to State

In almost winter-weather conditions, with the rain pouring and temperatures in the low 40s, the Greenbrier East Lady Spartans soccer team stayed poised through almost 99 minutes of play and came away with an impressive 1-0 win in double overtime against the George Washington Patriots on Tuesday, October 27, at Spartan Stadium in Fairlea.

Lady Spartans Meet GW Tonight For Regional Title

The ninth ranked Greenbrier East Lady Spartans (19-1-1) soccer team will hit the field tonight around 7:30 at Spartan Stadium in Fairlea with a Region 3 championship on the line. East will tangle with the 11th ranked George Washington Patriots (16-4-2) in the team's first meeting of the year.

Lady Spartans Defeat Beckley
