Spartans Fall to Woodrow, Face Capital Next

For three quarters on Saturday, March 5, in the Region 3, Section 1, co-final, the Greenbrier East Spartans gave the state's fourth ranked Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles all they wanted and more. However, it was the fourth and final quarter that doomed the Spartans, as they fell to Beckley 65-44 at the Raleigh County Convention Center.

Lady Spartans Season Over After Loss

The Greenbrier East Lady Spartans did all they could on Tuesday, March 1, against the George Washington Patriots in the Regional Finals, but after a dominant rebounding effort by their opponents, it was the Pats that came away with a 62-43 victory.

Lady Spartans Advance to Regional Finals

One more win. That is all the Greenbrier East Lady Spartans need to advance to another state tournament in Charleston next week. They will get the chance to get that win this coming Tuesday, March 1, when they host the George Washington Patriots at 7 PM at the Spartan Gym in Fairlea.

Senior Night Brings Big Victory for Spartans

The Greenbrier East Spartans picked up a much needed win to snap a small slump that saw them lose five out of their last seven games. East (12-8) waited until senior night to do it as they ran completely over the Shady Spring Tigers by a final score of 69-33 on Tuesday night, February 23 at Spartan Gym in Fairlea.
