GEHS Spartans Fall to Spring Valley Timerwolves, Await Next Season

The Greenbrier East Spartans had an opportunity to finish their 2016 campaign with a 5-5 record and an outside chance at a playoff berth. Unfortunately, they ran into a buzzsaw when they hosted the state's second ranked team, the Spring Valley Timberwolves, who ran at, around and through the Spartans all night en route to a 55-14 win.

Spartans Get Huge Win Over Princeton

To say this past Friday night's football was a bit of a shock would be an understatement. Nonetheless, a shock is definitely what it was when the Greenbrier East Spartans put a hurting on the Princeton Tigers 40-7 at Hunnicut Field.

Eastern Greenbrier Middle School Knights Finish Off Perfect Season

The 2016 version of the Eastern Greenbrier Knights started well and finished even better, rolling to a perfect 8-0 record. The Knights started off their season with a convincing 46-18 victory at Clifton Forge Middle School on September 1.

Spartans Overmatched by Experienced Patriots

On a typical chilly fall night this past Friday at Spartan Stadium in Fairlea, the Greenbrier East Spartans faced an important game while clinging to their slim playoff hopes. Unfortunately, they came up short against the Parkersburg South Patriots 30-16 on homecoming night.

Spartans Play Improves, But Suffers 24-8 Defeat

Things were better overall this past Friday, September 30, when the Greenbrier East Spartans traveled to Morgantown to take on the University Hawks. Unfortunately for the Spartans, the outcome was still the same as they fell 24-8 in their third consecutive road loss.

Greenbrier East Golf Team Has Impressive Showing at Elk's Club

The Greenbrier East High School Gold Golf team finished first out of eight teams at the Lewisburg Elk's Club front nine, par 34. The low three scores were totaled. The three-man team total was 104.
