She was born September 9, 1921, to Thomas and Alice Church and was preceded in death by her husband, John L. O'Brien Jr. of Ronceverte.

Jimmie Ray Carter, 82, of Alderson, WV, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.

Mr. Carter was born September 3, 1931, in Summers County, WV, and was the son of the late Dove and Daisy Alderson Carter.

Charlotte Georgie Boyd

Charlotte Georgie Boyd was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on November 30, 1919, to Marjorie McAllister Boyd and Robert Minton Boyd.

With the same grace as she ice skated until the age of 67, Charlotte moved from coast to coast in Canada with her mother, father, and brother, Jack. After living in several cities, her family moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she played field hockey and graduated from Halifax Ladies College.

Pastor Joan Wilmer of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, WV.

Born August 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Richard Andrew Harris and Victoria Francis Colemen.

Howard B. Chapman, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 18, 2014, at Holston Manor in Kingsport, TN.

Mr. Chapman was born March 31, 1936, in Clay County, WV, and was the son of the late Mary and Clyde Chapman.

Emma Jean Dowdy Cantrell

Emma Jean Dowdy Cantrell, 79, of Louisville, KY, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Baptist Health.

Born in Lewisburg, WV, she worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C., and Louisville before retiring from Humana. She attended Southeast Christian Church for many years and was a graduate of Greenbrier High School in Ronceverte, WV.

Mildred Mae Cox, 94, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Allegheny Regional Hospital in Low Moor, VA.

Mrs. Cox was born July 26, 1920, in Elkins, WV, the daughter of the late Ray Emery and Mamie Miller Yeager.

Edwin Lee Bennett

Edwin Lee Bennett, 76, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, died Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home in Fairlea, WV, where he had been residing for almost four years.

Edwin was born June 7, 1938, in Ronceverte, WV, son of the late Echols and Lilly Madge Bennett.
