James Aaron Smith, 83, of Charmco, WV, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, in Zephyrhills, FL.
Born September 2, 1935, at Glen Jean, WV, he was the son of the late Ernest and Georgia Harris Smith.
James was a member of the Rainelle First Baptist Church; served in the U.S. Air Force; was a Mason; and was retired from Appalachian Power Company.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Edith C. "Millie" O'Dell Smith; his daughter, Genelle Morgan (Tim) of Ronceverte, WV; his son Jeff (Melisa) of Social Circle, GA; five grandchildren, Suzzane Wright (Craig) of Fair-hope, AL, Matthew Daily (Brittany) of Charleston, WV, Isaac Morgan (Jessica) of Ronceverte, Joshua Morgan of South Park, PA, and Alyssa Smith of Social Circle; a special granddaughter, Makayla Lilly; and three great-grandchildren, Gaige and Pyper Wright, and Camilla Jo Daily.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018, in the Rainelle First Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy George and Pastor Les Mullins officiating.
The family will receive friends two hours before the service from 12-2 p.m. at the church.
