Burl Blankenship was born in Esty, WV, on June 26, 1951, and died at his home on Monday, July 23, 2018.
Burl served the country from 1968-1972 in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam war.
He also served in the Army National Guard until 1995. He was employed by The Greenbrier for 25 years in the housekeeping department.
Burl is preceded in death by his parents, Elias and Emma Blankenship; his brother Carl (surviving spouse, Janice); and his sisters, Eldora Flack and Evalena Blake.
He is survived by his son, Joshua; daughter-in-law, Nina; and his only granddaughter, Laurel, of whom he was extremely proud. Burl is also survived by his life partner, Louise Rider; as well as many nieces and nephews.
At his request, he will be cremated with no services to be held.
