Charles Lee Davis, 76, of Alderson, WV, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 25, 2018, at the Brier Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Ronceverte, WV, following a short illness.
Born May 1, 1941, in Alderson, he was the son of Roy and Ruth Marie Persinger Davis.
Mr. Davis worked on the green chain and retired from the BA Mullican Lumber Company in Ronceverte after many years of service. He was a graduate of Alderson High School, and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed watching television, especially The Three Stooges, The Lawrence Welk Show, Gaither Gospel Hour, Hee Haw, and any Western TV shows and movies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Davis; a daughter, Donna Catherine Garrett; a brother, Larry Davis; a sister, Helen Davis; and an aunt, Mary Burns.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Juanita Alice Grimmett Garrett Davis of Alderson; five children, Dennis Davis of Alderson, Missie Mitchell of Alderson, Rebecca Garrett and her husband, Brian Ward, of Alderson, Patrick Garrett and his wife, Tracy, of Staunton, VA, and Tanya Nicole Masters of Alderson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; an aunt and uncle, Ann and Max Bowyer of Alderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 4, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the River of Life Church of God in Alderson, with Pastor Anthony Carter officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Greenbrier Memorial Cemetery in Alderson.
Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson is in charge of arrangements.
