Mildred Trudy Hammons, 72, of Renick, WV, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017, at her home following an extended illness.
Born November 28, 1944, at Renick, she was the daughter of Melvin Troy and Esther Evelyn Harford Hammons.
Trudy was retired from Seneca Mental Health. She was a member of the Peaceful Valley Assembly of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Burdette.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Ray Burdette and wife, Michele, of Ohio; daughters, Anna Burdette of California and Terry Cook of Alderson, WV; a grandson whom she raised, Eric Steven Burdette of Ohio; brothers, Gerald Hammons and wife, Mary Nancy, of Frankford, WV, John Hammons of Renick, and Mason Hammons and wife, Rosemary, of Clendenin, WV; sisters, Nancy Moore and husband, Bob, of Pinch, WV, and Mary Carpenter and husband, Skeeter, of Alderson; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Woodland Church in Auto, WV, with Pastor John Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
