Greenbrier East Spartan Baseball Team Falls One Game Shy Of State Tournament

After an impressive streak that saw the Greenbrier East Spartans baseball team take two games in a row from a solid Princeton team and beat Shady Spring 7-6 in 11 innings in the Region 3 championship, their luck ran out after falling to Riverside 9-4 in the Regional finals at Eric J. Smith Field on Thursday, May 29.

The deadline is approaching for the ninth annual Farming Heritage Award offered by the State Fair of West Virginia and the West Virginia Farm Bureau. Entries must be in the State Fair office by 4:30 PM on Tuesday, June 3.

Children Removed From Home

Two children were removed from a home on Unus Road in Lewisburg after an arrest on May 28. Angela Dawn Tucker, 32, was arrested on charges of child neglect resulting in injury and possession of a controlled substance.
