Rupert Man Arrested For Allegedly Abusing Foster Children

A Rupert man was charged on Friday, May 16, for the felony offense of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian. Roger Lee Johnson, 62, was arrested after Cpl. R.D. Baker of the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department was contacted by the executive director and forensic interviewer for the Child Youth Advocacy Center in Lewisburg.

Alderson Man Sentenced To 15 Years For Burning Down House

Charles Byron Collins, 34, of Alderson, was sentenced Monday, May 12, to 15 years in the West Virginia State Penitentiary for "feloniously, willfully and intentionally" setting fire to a home.

Four Greenbrier County Residents Face Federal Heroin Indictments

United States Attorney Booth Goodwin announced on Monday, May 19, that four Greenbrier County residents have been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with heroin trafficking.

DEP Revolving Fund Reaches Milestone

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection's Clean Water State Revolving Fund reached a new milestone recently when it passed the $1 billion mark in low-interest loans made to state municipalities and public service districts for wastewater treatment and collection system projects.
