Route 219 Resurfacing Project Begins

West Virginia Division of Highways announces a planned resurfacing project on U.S. 219, Jefferson Street, in the city of Lewisburg, will begin Thursday night, September 4, according to Greg Hylton, District Nine construction engineer.

Constructon Of Route 219 South Underpass In Planning Stages

Construction on an underpass that will allow visitors to safely cross Route 219 South from free parking into the fairgrounds was expected to begin this fall, but according to the West Virginia Division of Highways Assistant District Engineer/Maintenance Jim Moore, construction will likely begin in early spring.

Former Mail Carrier Sentenced For Arranging Drug Deals

A Greenbrier County man was sentenced in federal court in Beckley for using a telephone to facilitate the sale of illegal drugs, according to a press release from United States Attorney Booth Goodwin.
