Area Students Awarded For Academics And Leadership

Area students received academic and leadership awards from West Virginia Wesleyan College during the college's annual end-of-year academic and leadership banquet and convocation held Sunday, April 26, on the Buckhannon Campus.

Richmond Receives Degree

Washington and Lee School of Law awarded 126 juris doctor degrees during commencement on Saturday, May 10, on the university's historic Front Lawn. Chelsea Richmond of Lewisburg was one of the students who received a degree.

Area Student Named To ShowPig.Com All-Stars

Tristan Morgan has been named to the 2014 Showpig.com All-Star Team. This honor is bestowed to students within the industry from across America who have a passion for agriculture, leadership and service-learning. Morgan is one of only 24 high school students nationwide selected for this title.

Meteor Shower Visible Across WV Skies Through Early Morning

Stargazers have the opportunity to witness a "blast from the past" from 10:30 tonight through 7 AM tomorrow as streams of dust released from a periodic comet in the 1800s cross Earth's orbit for the first time.

Monroe County Funeral Home Allegedly Violates State Act

Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has announced that the West Virginia Attorney General's Office recently filed a complaint against Broyles-McGuire Funeral Home LLC and its owner, Joel L. McGuire, for allegedly violating the state's Preneed Act and Consumer Credit ad Protection Act.
