McClintic Sets School Long Jump Record

The Greenbrier East girls' track team gave outstanding individual and team performances at the 2014 WV State Track Meet on May 23 and 24 at Laidley Field in Charleston. With a new school record jump of 17 feet Maddie McClintic captured the AAA Long Jump State Title.

Federal Funding Awarded To Firefighters

U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall has announced federal funding has been  awarded from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the Ronceverte and Jumping Branch/Nimitz volunteer fire departments.

Public Service Commission Orders Mon Power and Potomac Edison To Read Meters Each Month

The Public Service Commission of West Virginia has issued a final order in the general investigation into the meter reading, billing and customer service practices of the First Energy subsidiaries Monongahela Power Company (Mon Power) and Potomac Edison Company (PE) that, among other things, directs the companies to implement monthly meter reading and billing as quickly as possible, but no later than July 1, 2015, according a press release from the PSC.

Fire Department Holds Annual Bucket Drive

Over the Memorial Day weekend, there were some smiling faces in the streets of Ronceverte. The Ronceverte Volunteer Fire Department had its annual Memorial Day bucket drive. The fire department collected everything from pennies to $50 bills.
