The hotly contested Senate Bill 451, the omnibus education bill, was postponed indefinitely by a vote in the House of Delegates on Tuesday, February 19. Teachers across the state continue to be out of school, however, after a statement from the state Senate hinted the bill could be resurrected.
Both local representatives, delegates Cindy Lavender-Bowe and Jeff Campbell, voted in favor of the motion to postpone, joining the 53 yeas in opposition to the 45 nays.
