Suspended Justice Allen Loughry of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals has resigned as of close of business on November 12. A special session of the state legislature had been called by Governor Jim Justice for Tuesday, November 13 and has been rescinded at the request of Senate President Mitch Carmichael and Speaker of the House Roger Hanshaw.
Loughry's resignation comes following a vote on Articles of Impeachment for the entire sitting state Supreme Court and acquittal of Justice Beth Walker. Former Justices Menis Ketchem and Robin Davis also retired from office, both before the official vote in the state legislature on the Articles of Impeachment
