The Greenbrier County Commission met Tuesday, February 27, to approve joining a business alliance and to hire a new team member in the Greenbrier County Circuit Court office.
Both before and during their February 13 meeting, commissioners heard presentations from the West Virginia Hardwood Alliance Zone (WVHAZ), an association whose goal is to provide resources and streamline communication between companies working in the hardwood logging industry. The hardwood industry accounts for $3.2 billion of the West Virginia economy and employs 30,000 people in the state, according to WVHAZ.
