Green Bank Telescope Focuses On Oumuamua, Strange Asteriod

In conjunction with Breakthrough Listen, the Green Bank Telescope focused on a mysterious object moving through the solar system, the asteroid known as Oumuamua. The telescope focused on the mysterious object on Wednesday, December 13, looking to answer questions about it's strange origin from outside the solar system.

Oumuamua, also called 1I/2017, was named after the Hawaiian word for scout and is, according to Ron Maddalena, a scientist with Green Bank Telescope, the first object from outside of the solar system to be examined this close.
