Free Hands-On Beekeeping Class Starts Thursday

Honey aficionados and aspiring apiarists will have a unique opportunity this year to realize their honey-slinging, beekeeping dreams. On Thursday, January 8, the West Virginia Southeastern Beekeepers Association is launching a free beekeeping class aimed at providing hands-on training to those looking to start a hive or two in their own backyards.

Alleged Criminal Attempts Underwater Escape

Two men are being held at Southern Regional Jail after attempting to evade capture by police. Robert M. LeMaster and Kenneth Wayne Harrison were both apprehended on December 20, 2014, after allegedly attempting to break into a residence.

Local Woman Arrested For Alleged First Degree Murder

A locall woman has been arrested on the charge of first degree murder. Brandy Marie Dawn Black, 30, of Lewisburg, was arrested the same day of the alleged murder.

On Thursday, January 1, 2015, a senseless act of violence hit the city of Lewisburg, setting the community on edge.  A man opened fire on two police officers after a routine traffic stop went awry.

Lewisburg Woman Arrested On Murder Charges

Lewisburg police, responding to a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound early Saturday morning, have arrested a Lewisburg woman on murder charges. Brandy Marie Dawn Black, 29, of Lewisburg, has been charged with first degree murder for the death of her boyfriend, Shane B. Hinkle, 23, also of Lewisburg.
