The West Virginia House of Delegates chamber is holding public hearings on Senate Bill 451, comprehensive education reform, beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, January 11, ahead of the 11 a.m. regular House session. A second public hearing session has been added to the agenda, to be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Speakers are allowed 70 seconds to address the floor, and this morning have been largely made up of teachers and administrators of the public school system in West Virginia. Some speakers have already called for the House to hear input from experts such as teachers and other education administrators in a setting that allows them more than 70 seconds in which to speak.
