2017 Abduction Case Results In Guilty Plea, Two To Ten Years Incarcertaion

Sentencing in an abduction case took place in the Greenbrier County Circuit Court on Friday, January 11. Christopher Rider was indicted in October 2018 on one charge of felony abduction relating to an incident in December 2017.

The case began when Preston Modlin, principal of Eastern Greenbrier Middle School, contacted local police on December 18, 2017. A student was absent from school, and several other students told Modlin they had received messages stating that the missing student was with Rider.
