Southern Storm Drops More Snow Than Expected, Roads Still Being Cleared

The weather had more in store for the area than predicted - an understatement for some who may have been expecting five inches and ended up with closer to 15 or even 20. A winter storm warning was in effect for a large portion of the weekend in Greenbrier and Monroe Counties as the storm covered a large portion of the Southeastern United States.

According to the National Weather Service Blacksburg, whicih serves the Greenbrier Valley area more closly than NWS Charleston, the snowstorm that tore through the South this weekend "has set some records," and has been drastically different from the last snowfall in Greenbrier and Monroe counties, which brought a fraction of the snowfall.
