Hurricane Florence Approaches, Resources Are Available To Area Residents, Incoming Evacuees

As Hurricane Florence comes nearer to making landfall, residents on the East Coast are preparing for rain, heavy winds, and the looming possibility of flood and damage. North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia have already been placed in a state of emergency by the federal government, and some places have already seen mandatory evacuation orders.

While West Virginia is not in the direct path of the hurricane, the area is projected to experience plenty of rain, high wind, and potential flooding. Southern West Virginia, in particular, is likely to see these effects due to its procimity to Virginia and the coast.
