Damon Simmons Arrested After Hospice Break-In

After allegedly trespassing and battering employees of Peyton Hospice House in Ronceverte, a man with an outstanding warrant for shoplifting was arrested and charged with eight misdemeanors on Wednesday, July 25.

Although the doors of Peyton Hospice House are normally kept locked, according to the criminal complaint, a door was left unlocked to allow family of a patient to smoke outside. While the door was unlocked, a "strange male" entered the building, reportedly wanting to search the nurses' station for "something."
